The one thing I never post about is the goings on down here in Florida. We picked up this property a few years ago and basically sat on it. One of my wife and my hobbies are building out our property.

Our current project is running the main irrigation line. Water is critical if we’re going to actually build a proper lawn. The pic below is the halfway point with one trench spanning from the ceter of our property where our well is located. We’re making progress but it’s back breaking slow work. The Kabota, above, will first be used to backfill the trenches; 1/3 of the way to bury the electrical, another 1/3 of the way to cover the plumbing line, and a final 1/3 to top it off.

Once we’re finished filling everything back in comes time to start smoothing everything out and creating the lawn. Enter ye’ box blade! We’ve already tested it out once and, boy oh boy, it creates such a flat smooth surface:

Finally, the most enjoyable piece… the finishing mower. I don’t have a great picture of it at the moment, however this bad boy, combined with the air-conditioned cab, actualy makes cutting this piece of dirt enjoyable. At SEVEN FEET WIDE it takes an otherwise eight hour task and cuts it into two… and without the sweat!

Guess I’m sticking this here for those who are interested in more than just software development. Social media is filled with nonsense. This here blog might just let me keep our friends and family up to speed with our lil’ world without having to deal with politics, fake ads, and even more fake people.
